How the list is made and checked
How a place gets on the list
We read the place’s own website, or its own Facebook or Instagram page when it has no website. We record only what it says about its offer for children: ages, days and times, prices with their unit, languages, trial classes and whether a parent must stay.
The address, map point and opening hours may also come from the place’s Google listing. Membership of a sports federation may come from the federation’s own list of clubs.
Every fact is stored with the page it was read on, the date and a short quotation in the original language. Price lists and timetables published as images are read independently more than once, and a fact is kept only when the readings agree. Directories, news articles, booking platforms and reviews are never used as a source.
Source flags
Each source carries a flag. Published by the place: its own website or social media page. Google listing: the place’s entry on Google Maps. Federation list: the member list of a sports federation.
The flag and the date sit next to every fact on a place’s page, so you can see whose statement it is and how recent it is.
When a fact is missing
Not published means the pages we read do not state the fact. The place may still have a price or a timetable that it does not put online. In the table a missing fact is a dash.
Nothing is guessed or worked out from the type of place. School years such as Standard or Form are not turned into ages, and prices are not converted between units.
Class times and opening hours
The table keeps class times and opening hours apart. Class times are the days and hours of a class, a care session or a camp day, as the place publishes them. Opening hours say when the premises are open and often come from the Google listing.
A centre that is open at some hour may have no group for your child’s age at that hour. When a time filter is set and only opening hours are known, the row moves below the dividing line.
The after-school pages use a weekday window from 15:00 to 18:00. A class counts when a group starts inside it; care counts when its hours cover all of it.
What we do not measure
- No place, teacher or programme is rated, scored or ranked here.
- We never visit the places; every fact comes from what is published.
- We make no judgement on the quality of teaching or care.
- We cannot tell whether a group has room for another child.
- We do not check registrations or licences with any authority.
- We do not confirm prices with the place. A price is shown as published, with its unit and the date it was read.
Right to reply
If you run a place on this list and a fact is wrong, missing or out of date, send it through the correction form with a link to the page that shows the correct fact.
A correction that the place’s own pages support is made at the next update and noted in the changelog. A place that has closed keeps its page, marked as closed, and is removed from every table.
The people who run a place can also have it taken off the list: choose “Take a listed place off the list” in the correction form and give a contact that shows you run it. Within a month the place disappears from the tables, its page and the data files.
Dates and updates
Each place is read again within 6 months. A price published for a period that has ended stays on the place’s page with its period, and is left out of the filters and the summary line.
Payment and independence
No place pays to be listed, and payment cannot change a row or its position. The order is always by area, then by name.
A place’s page may carry a link to a partner service, labelled as a partner. Taps on contact buttons are counted in total, without personal data.
Open data
The whole list is available as a JSON file and a CSV table: a record per place and a row per programme, with every source, flag and date. The licence is named inside the file.
Areas, distances and the map
The list covers Kuala Lumpur and the towns around it in the Klang Valley, such as Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam. Each branch is filed under the area whose centre point is nearest to it. Area names group the table and can differ from the postal address.
A distance is a straight line from the point you choose to the nearest branch, shown in steps of half a kilometre. Your location is asked for only when you press the button; it is used inside your browser and is never sent anywhere.
A point worked out from an address is approximate. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
